Sound Design

In the second semester of my senior year in high school, I led the sound for the school musical, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. Working with an undocumented and outdated system posed many challenges, but I very much enjoyed the problem-solving process.

Basic routing spreadsheet I made to keep track of channels.

Inventory list I started, as things were very hard to find.

Learning the basics of QLab, as it's much easier to operate than SoundPlant, the software used for the fall play.

Using Applescript to quit apps at the end of the show, and restore the original settings.

Most sound cues were created from either loops in the Apple library or recorded sounds, and edited together in this one project before being bounced as a .WAV to be used in QLab.

I served as A2 for the NHS Drama club play. Due to catching COVID-19 the week of the production, I could not fill the role of the FOH engineer, however I did get to set up the system, oversee its use for the most part of May-June 2022, as well as tear it down at the end of the school year. Here are some pictures.

Due to scheduling conflicts, I could not participate in the rehearsals for the Fall play in my Senior year. I still wanted to help out, so I designed the sound effects and programmed scenes on the LS9 mixing console.
